Andrei Marcu is currently the Executive Director of the European Roundtable on Climate Change and Sustainable Transition.

Since 1993 Mr. Marcu has played an active and important role in many areas related to climate change and sustainable development.
He has been a negotiator supporting G77 since 2018. He participated in the negotiations of the Paris Agreement, which led to the creation of Article 6 in the Paris Agreement, as well as in the negotiation of the Art 6 rulebook since COP 21. He has also created, led and facilitated an informal dialogue of Art 6 negotiators that has been active from October 2014 to present.

Mr. Marcu has also held senior position in the UN and the private sector. In the UN system he held the position of Manager, Private Sector Cooperation, including climate change, in the United Nations Development Programme (New York).

He was one of the pioneers of the involvement of the private sector in sustainable development and climate change, especially on carbon markets, including as Chief Executive Officer of BlueNext, the environmental exchange, based in Paris. Mr. Marcu joined Mercuria Energy in September 2009 in the role as Head of Regulatory Affairs, Environment and Climate Change.

Mr. Marcu was the Founder and President and CEO of International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), a world-class business association with offices in Geneva, Brussels, Washington, California and Toronto. IETA is dedicated to the creation of an efficient and environmentally robust market for greenhouse gases to address the issue of the issue of global warming and climate change.

He is currently a Board Member of IETA. He also acted as Senior Managing Director of the Word Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in charge of Energy and Climate and as Vice Chair of the Energy and Environment Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. Mr. Marcu was also a Senior Advisor on Climate Change and Emissions Trading at Bennett Jones LLP in Canada.

Mr. Marcu has substantial experience in the electric power industry from his work with Ontario Hydro in Toronto, Canada here he worked for 18 years. While at Ontario Hydro, Mr. Marcu worked in various areas of the corporation including, system operations, climate change, regulatory affairs and international cooperation as well as Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Mr. Maurice Strong. Mr. Marcu holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University (Montreal) and an MBA for the University of Toronto.

Anna Papagrigoraki is the Sustainability Director at Cepi, the European Confederation of Paper Industries, since 2019. Prior to Cepi, Anna held positions in PlasticsEurope where she was part of the Advocacy team and CEFS, the EU Sugar Manufacturers Association as an Environment & Agricultural Advisor. She has experience in environmental policy topics ranging from industrial emissions and circular economy to climate change and life-cycle-assessment. Anna has Masters in Civil Engineering (2009) and MSc in Environmental Monitoring and Assessment (2010) from the University of Southampton.

Ilkka Hämälä

Since June 2019, Jori Ringman is Director General of the Confederation of European Paper Industries (Cepi). Previously he was Deputy Director General and responsible for issues relating to sustainability, environment and consumer protection, with particular concern for packaging and food contact. Since joining Cepi in 2005 he has been advancing and exploring circular low carbon bioeconomy in the sector.
Prior to 2005, he was a civil servant at the European Commission and a political advisor in the European Parliament.

Kiril Dimitrov

Marco Eikelenboom is Chief Executive Officer at Sappi Europe since April 2021. His professional career started in 1992 with KNP Fine Paper in The Netherlands and after several commercial positions in Maastricht and Paris, he was appointed Manager Corporate Planning when KNP Leykam was acquired by Sappi Ltd. in 1997. Following this corporate strategy position, Marco took on the role as Managing Director of Sappi Benelux and left in 2002 to Sappi’s global Head Office in Johannesburg to become Marketing Director. Marco came back to Brussels as Director Marketing & Sales in 2005 and after the acquisition and integration of M-Real Graphics In 2008, he assumed the global Marketing & Sales responsibilities for the Graphics business of Sappi Europe as Vice-President Marketing & Sales. Marco holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and followed executive management courses at INSEAD, IMD and MIT Sloane School of Management. He lives with his wife Renée and Labrador Dingo in Brussels and has 3 sons working and studying in the Netherlands.

Peter Bekaert

As managing director of the Modellfabrik Papier since June 2021, Peter Bekaert is establishing a new research and development centre in Düren, Germany. The target is a new way of papermaking with substantially less energy use.

Previously, he was Managing Director of a label printing company (PRiMATAG, 100% subsidiary of May+Spies GmbH) and Operations Manager at May+Spies for five years. From 2008 to 2016, he worked in various management positions in the product area of release liner (siliconised papers) in Germany, the Netherlands and Austria for Mondi. In his first two professional years, he worked for Katoen Natie as Operational Manager in Belgium and France. He studied commercial engineering in Belgium, specialising in production and logistics.

Ulrich Leberle joined the Confederation of European Paper Industries (Cepi) in November 2005. Having held several positions in the area of raw materials at Cepi, his responsibilities in his current role of Raw Materials Director include the availability of raw material both from forestry and recycling and the policies impacting them.
Prior to Cepi, he worked  in the European Commission, the European Parliament and as a consultant in a Brussels based company specialising in EU Public Affairs.
