Virginia Puzzolo is the Head of Programme in the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking since 2020.

Before joining CBE JU, Virginia worked for 11 years for the Research Executive Agency (REA) of the European Commission managing the implementation of the Space Research part of FP7 and Horizon2020 framework programmes for research and innovation.

Virginia holds a PhD in ‘Plant Ecology and Biology in Mediterranean environment’. She started her career in the European Commission in 2004 in the Joint Research Center and then she moved to DG Enterprise, where she was actively involved in the development of the European Union's Earth Observation Program: Copernicus.
